I am so happy/excited about this it is insane!!

Needed to share the news! WOOOT!!

Also, my brother scored himself some free Marlies tickets for tonights game (and this time actually invited me!) so we're heading out tonight to watch the Marlies/Phantoms! YAY!
It will be my first ever Marlies/AHL game. Haha.

Flyers - Knuble - Are you a real fan?

Flyers: home opener 2009

Just got back to the hotel a bit ago from tonights kickass Flyers game.
Flyers beat the Caps in OT 6-5. It was amaaaaaazing.
I will def be posting more tomorrow when I get my pics up.
The 2nd period was INSANE. Mike Richards got a hat trick. Ovie fell all over himself. Knuble plastered Carter into the boards right in front of me, which :(. Matt Carle was wicked awesome. Kimmo had an awesome ass goal. And ACK. It was just amaaazing.
The atmosphere in that arena was crazy nuts & intense..I almost felt like it was a playoff game or something. It was just insane. Great experience. One of my fave games I've been to in the last couple years.

More at some point this week, when we have some downtime at the hotel.

Sidenote: why is it that all restaurants in the east end of old city all close by 10 or 11...we are starved, and boo. lol ;)

Anyway....back tomorrow.

Flyers: WOOT SYVRET!!!

Danny Syvret is officially a Flyer!!! yaya!

It's at the cost of Randy Jones being sent down to the Phantoms...but like, SYVRET!!! Haha.

You see my icon? That is the back of his head!
Heeee! Syvret. I love it.

Flyers - Bleed It

Leafs & Flyers: Pre-season videos/pics

I'm not really sure why I've been m.i.a from my blogs lately....but I'm here now!
Everyone is excited, I know.

NHL is officially finally back! yay! There is so much to talk about since I haven't posted in forever..... and therefore I mention none of it Haha.
Seriously though, there has been so much drama over the summer that I never even mentioned here, but it's been in 887580437690438 things, that my little opinion doesn't matter.

I am only going to make a quick video/pic post right now. I hope that I will keep up with this during the season, but probably not. I haven't really been online/on my computer at all lately.
At the very least I will use this blog to chronicle all my hockey adventures for the season.

Sooooo, first up Leafs @ Flyers (in London, ON) 09.17.09

I didn't get very many videos this year, I missed out on all the good stuff by the time I turned my camera on...so I just made a video with a bunch of tiny clips instead.
Got bits of a couple fights, couple faceoffs, Asham's hit on Grabovski or my commentary as I follow Carter around with my camera not paying attention to what is actually happening at all. Haha.
I'm a loser.
Anyway, ta daaa...

Carcillo/Rogers/Schenn fight.
Don't mind my 'yay! Ryan Parent!' comments...I was trying to get a pic of him the whole game...I got about 6 or so....all of his back! So I was excited.
Also, the dude on the left of the screen that you hear me call a loser.....he had extremely tiny feet. Felt like that needed to be pointed out. Haha. ;)

More pics here. )
I also went to the Flyers @ Leafs game 9.19.09. I don't have any videos though, it wasn't until the 3rd period that I realised I hadn't taken any...which isn't like me. So I took a random one with my camera just for the sake of having one. Not worth posting as it is just a random faceoff.

Anyway, I got a few pics. Not too much as I had purples (which for those that don't know, means nosebleeds and beyond).

More, more. )And that is all for now. I am going to 2 games next week! Which omigod, I cannot believe the regular season is already starting in a couple days!!
So I will for sure be posting stuff from those games, no doubt.

OH, and quickly want to mention Randy Jones being waived. I was actually pretty disappointed when I heard. He had a few really good moments at the Leafs game on the 19th, and I dunno, he's improved over the last year so I was kinda surprised.
BUT at the same time, rumour has it that Danny Syvret is finally, and really FINALLY, getting his shot at the NHL...and he may have surpassed Tollefsen and claimed the 6th spot! I'm not a fan that it comes at the expense of Randy Jones, but MAN am I so unbelievably happy about this. It is crazy!
Awesome Syvret! I am so so SO happy for you if these rumours end up being fact!

Also, Leafs good move re: Kadri.
If I decide to post at all in the next little while I will definitely have more substance to it...if not, just expect more pics & videos. Haha.

Later.

Orientation Camp Continues....

Day 3 of camp today.
Richards/Toews/Iginla
Carter/Thornton/E. Staal

S. Neidermeyer/Weber

HAVE I MENTIONED THAT I LOVE THIS COUNTRY?!

That's all I'm aware of at the moment cause I was only half paying attention to SportsCentre. But MAN am I excited!

Hee!

WJC - Champs '05

Team Canada 2010 Orientation Camp

I have been totally MIA from this place. I don't really come online anymore, I probably won't be using this blog all that much this coming season.
Anyway, so, Canada's mens Olympic hockey team's orientation camp started yesterday.
I AM SO EXCITED.

The Olympics were always made into a very huge deal in my house growing up, especially the winter olympics. Actually, now that I think about it, summer games were never that big a deal for us except specifically 1988 (shoutout Desi Williams! haha).
ANYWAY. No one cares.
Moving on.

So, as I was trying to explain, because of sentimental reasons I could not bring myself to watch the 2006 games, so this year is especially exciting to me for that reason, and of course, now because I am completely back into following the NHL again I am SOOOO looking forward to this team....and to finally winning Gold on home soil!!
/loser.

So, nothing much to update on. I'm kinda upset that Thursday's red-white game won't be televised. The stupid radio guy got me so excited yesterday morning when he said it was going to be, and now I am left feeling hugely disappointed realising it is not.

As far as I know, both teams got two practices in each, and this afternoon all the guys played a game of golf together.
Awesome stuff.

Simon Gagne possibly pulled his hamstring in practice yesterday so he's left the camp and is now back in Philly getting that checked out.

Greatest line of all time: Iginla/Crosby/Nash.
What?
I love this country.

Carter's been on the wing with Lecavalier/Lucic.....which, according to McGuire has been pretty fab.
Richards I believe has been with Heatley...and I can't remember who else.
Pronger...I don't think I have read anywhere who he's been paired with.

Media, stop stalking Crosby please. I, however give you permission to start following Carter 24/7. ;)
/fangirl.

What else.
OH. My 2005 WJC obsessive side is in overdrive: Carter/Richards/Getzlaf/Perry/Weber/Crosby/Phaneuf are all at this camp. Epic much?
Though Getzlaf isn't going to be on the ice at all this week cause of his injury, which kinda blows. I'm very curious to see if he and Carter still have the same chemistry they had back in the day.
Also, wouldn't mind seeing how he reunites with the Nash/Heatley combo too. Ah well.
This camp is still fab.

I decided to be on the 'Iginla for C' and 'Brodeur as #1' bandwagons.

Oh, ALSO, I decided...if February is made of win and these boys get the gold...I will get a tattoo to celebrate. Haha.
Okay seriously /loser.

And that's all for now. I might post again at the end of the week when camps over.
Probably not. LOL.

If I get any good videos from the pre-season Leafs/Flyers game though, I'll be posting them....can't believe it's already only a few weeks away!

Later.

Flyers - Knuble - Are you a real fan?

Flyers: I'm coming for you boys!!

I really suck at keeping this blog updated....not doing much better today! Just sharing some happy news.
Thanks to my trusty sidekick stubhub.com I AM GOING TO THE FLYERS HOME OPENER VS. THE CAPS!!!
Heee.
I am so SO excited!!!
Making the trip with a couple of the bestest there are!
This will be the greatest roadtrip ever.
And I AM SO EXCITED!

Sigh. Mike Knuble, the things I do for you. ;)
Hee!!

Jul. 29th, 2009

Scottie is excited

Coyotes: Upshall signed!!

So the Coyotes re-signed Upshall to a one year deal. I dunno how I feel about this. I'm happy he signed, but I was hoping he'd get more......or that he'd come back to the East and sign with someone over here. Haha.

Also, I have been m.i.a from livejournal for awhile, so I realise I never mentioned the Biron signing either.
I really don't get what the Islanders are gonna do with 3 goalies now...I've heard rumblings that some think a DiPietro buyout is in the works. I dunno.
But it's interesting.

Also, I'm still pissed the Flyers didn't re-sign Niitty. He only signed for 600K with Tampa. What's the big deal, Homer?

Blah.

Okay, ciao. Hiding back in my cave now. ;)

Flyers - Bleed It

Flyers & Leafs: Preseason! Finally!

This summer is breezing by, and I'm loving it!
It seemed like it was taking forever for my teams to announce their pre-seasons....and it was annoying!
But yay! They both announced their schedules today, and yay! They are playing eachother... TWICE!!!

Leafs @ Flyers Sep 17 (@ London)
Flyers @ Leafs Sep 19

This is amazing! I am excited! ..... even though [info]southerncross_ has informed me that she will no longer be coming to London because it's the Leafs. So....thanks. :p
;)
[info]nevermind_that is more than likely coming with me to that game anyway . . . and it will be so easy for me to get someone to come with me to the game in Toronto.

Anyway, SO EXCITED!!!
So much hockey this year! Which means, video blogs! I will def be posting them all public this time around. Otherwise, what is the point of making them I've decided.
I'm obsessed.
But whatever. I can't explain what hockey is to me. And these teams. And just guh.
New crushboy, meet also current crushboy. I am a crushboy whore.
And a loser too, apparently.

------
Also, Lasse Kukkonen is out to the KHL. :( Bye Kukks. Good luck to ya!

Enough exclamation marks for ya? Haha. ;)

Flyers - Knuble - Are you a real fan?

It's Official....

Flyers @ Bruins @ Fenway Park 1.1.10

Also, the 2009-10 schedule came out today. ... Knuble the Caps are playing the Leafs & the Flyers only days apart . . . THAT IS FATE! lol.
No, probably not. But whatever.

Also, the Coyotes are playing @ the Leafs this year! Yay! So at least I get to see Upshall in person once this season. Le.Sigh.

That is all for now.

NHL

(no subject)

Tampa signed Niittymaki! It's official! Yay!
Not only is he staying in the NHL, but in the East.
I'm happy.
=)

Just read this, and it made me excited.

My only thing is his rumoured salary...that is a huge pay cut, and if he was willing to do that it bothers me that the Flyers didn't re-sign him as Emery's backup.

But whatev. He's in the NHL! yay!

Jul. 1st, 2009

Flyers - Knuble - Are you a real fan?

2009 Free Agent Frenzy!

So Bouwmeester signed with Calgary last night, and Heatley the douchebag nixed the deal with the Oilers.
Today will be fun.

Flyers have been unable to make a deal with Knuble. He wants a 2 year deal because he wants to retire in Philly, and they only want to sign him to a one-year deal. Supposodly.
I will cry, alot, if Knuble is gone. They better make a deal with him today.
Also, Niitty. I don't like these Boucher rumours. What is wrong with Niitty? Boo.

Sigh. Okay, I am very literally going to spend the next 6 hours parked on the couch in front of TSN2 to see how the day goes down. BLAH.
Good things better happen today.

Behind the cut, cause I literally watched for almost the whole 6 hours. )

NHL

2009 NHL Entry Draft

I didn't get home last night until almost 2am, so I didn't get to see the draft, I heard about the Pronger deal though.

I do not understand this trade. Homer sure does love throwing picks away. (I'm still po'd about Upshall AND a pick for effin Carcillo. Sigh.)
Lupul going kinda doesn't bug me, though. He's who I wanted them to trade at the deadline to get rid of the cap hit. However, that was before we were without Scottie.
But I also still believe Lupul is over-rated by many (as is Pronger - he's not what he used to be) and I mean, Homer could've traded worse. I DUNNO.
I don't know what to think of this.
I mean, obviously Homer is not thinking about the future of the franchise but rather the NOW. He wants to win. And of course I want to win too. . . but TWO first round picks, Lupul and SBISA gone?
I will admit, I was never on the Sbisa train the way alot of other fans were. I admitted he was impressive, and he had his awesome moments. But for the most part all I could see was his immaturity as a player, and the fact that he just wasn't at NHL level yet, and I didn't understand why a bunch of people thought he was the greatest thing of all time.
BUT he does have so much potential. And I saw him as a huge part of the the future for this organization. He was going to be good for this team.
Blah.

Also, who is Ryan Dingle?

It kinda amuses me that Lupul's headed back to Anaheim in a trade for the guy that's the reason he left the first time.
I haven't decided yet if I'm gonna miss him or not. But I do think the team will. That locker room next year, with that "core" that Homer is trying to keep, yeah, no Upshall and Lupul now? BLAH. Some core. I dunno.
I dunno.

---------
Okay, watching draft now...

Haha. How awesome were the boo's that Bettman got? I love it.
I cannot stand to watch this man talk . . . .fast forward. ;)

Tavares is #1. I'm getting kinda emotional. It was weird not knowing this whole time.
Geeze bud, did you bring all of Oakville with you . . .GET ON THE STAGE PLEASE. lol ;)
Yay! I'm excited for the Islanders.
Bwhaha. These Islanders fans in the crowd are making me laugh.

Bwhaha. Duschene looks kinda happy that Tampa took Hedman at #2.
And seriously, Tampa has no reason to suck ass next year, now. Especially if they keep Lecavalier.

ooooooh, the Av's were his fave team growing up. Okay whatever.

Is Bob McKenzie in love with Duschene or what?!? lol.
I AM KIDDING.
I like this kid too.
Also, I adore James Duthie. It is sickening how much.
----------

I'm kinda disappointed that the Kessel/Kaberle deal didn't happen.

Ew Bettman just announced the Pronger deal. It makes it more depressing actually hearing it.

Boo to Schenn going to the Kings. That makes me sad.
Haha, Burke looks pissed.
Blah.
I wanted this kid on the Leafs.

This draft sucks.

Go Burkie!
OMIGOD I HATE HABS FANS!! dfjkghjsfkdsf
Nazem Kadri of the Knights.
HAI RON WILSON!!! Hee, I miss you!
Omigod this is so exciting! Haha.

Ohhhh, Nieuwendyk!

Okay, I kinda don't care about the rest of this round now that the Flyers aren't picking . . . I'll check out the rest online I think.
Rounds 2-7 are being aired very shortly on the NHL Network . . . I might check out some of that, I dunno.

So, overall, I'm trying to be excited about the Leafs selection of Kadri . . . but I really wanted them to grab Schenn.
Also, Flyers. Sigh. So disappointed.

This post is everywhere and probably makes no sense. I apologize.

Adios.

NHL

2009 NHL Awards

"Live" on CBC right now.

My play-by-play that I usually reserve for my personal journal )
Overall I was fairly disappointed. They weren't much better than CBC's production last year. What was the point of moving them to Vegas? For more players to show up?
They didn't even show any of them on tv. Sigh.

And in other news . . . . . I never ended up talking about the Balsillie/Coyotes/NHL BS . . . and now there is no point, everyone knows what happened.
Balsillie is still optimistic though. Judge Baum makes it seem like the only reason he ruled the way he did was because of the time restrictions Balisillie put on everything. . . but he will be part of the auction in September, apparently . . . so we'll see what happens.
Sigh.
Okay, I am off to watch Harper's Island, and then I need sleep so I won't be in a coma, once again, at work tomorrow morning.

Later.
=)

Jun. 13th, 2009

NHL

Blaaaaaaaaaaaaah.

SO MUCH TO TALK ABOUT.
Well, after all the months of drama with my laptop it turns out it wasn't fixable afterall, so I had to buy a new one earlier this week. . . and finally, I officially have a computer again.

Anyway, so, where do I start? I guess I'll go with last night and work my way backwards. . .
Looking at the positives about the Penguins winning the cup last night .... I am very amused by the predicament that Hossa is in right now. I love it alot.
Also, I think this could be good for the Flyers next season. Not only are the Pens a Conference/Division rival, but it's the effin Pens. I hope it's something that just really kicks them in the butt next year, and drives them to stay consistant and kick some asses.

This years playoffs were so weird for me. I really didn't care who took home the cup last night. I haven't watched a full game since the 2nd round. Once the Bruins and Canucks were out I didn't care anymore, no one that I wanted to win was remaining, so this year was just very blah for me.
I thought I would get emotional last night. Teary eyed at the very least.
Last year when Detroit won, I cried when they cried, smiled when they smiled, etc. ya know? I put more of myself into watching the playoffs last year. It was so much more different this year not having a team to follow almost to the very end. Having the Flyers out in the first round was just weird to me.
It is weird to me to not care who wins the Stanley Cup. To find the finals boring.
HOW CAN I FIND THE FINALS BORING? It's the finals.
But it was very 'who cares?' for me.

I am happy for the Penguins though. I mean, I don't HATE them. Some of their players, yes. But them, no.
LOL. Possibly that changed after meeting a couple of them back in Feb, I dunno.
But anyway, point is, I'm happy for them. They deserved to win that game last night. I was super impressed with the maturity they had after unexpectedly losing Crosby in the 2nd, Staal played amazing. And I am super happy/excited for Talbot he had an excellent playoff run, and he was just as fab yesterday. Plus, he is awesome. Heh.

Anyway. What am I saying? This is all coming out of my ass, cause I seriously don't give a crap.
Sooooooo, being without internet for awhile I was on youtube the other day looking at dumb stuff and I found the following:

Carter is a hot ass. And the chick taping is making me laugh so much "yes you are". ROFL hahaha.

Okay so a few things worth mentioning:
* There are rumours the Rags might be after Knuble. No thank you.
* Heatley asking for a trade. I don't really know what to think about that. Rumour has it he wants to go out West.
Blah. I dunno. Did he not ask for the no-trade clause himself? So, like....yeah, I dunno what to think about this one.
* Hatcher has been hired by the Flyers as player development coach. That is awesome news. I am happy he will still be with the organization.
* Player-wise Leafs haven't done anything yet . . .but Burke has fired majority of office/support staff/marlies coaching . . . this is going to be an interesting summer in this city.
* Sigh. Emery. Another one I don't have feelings on just yet. If he has improved on-ice as everyone has been saying, than I say this is a good move. He got the Sens to the Finals 2 years ago, he is a capable goalie when he is focused and on his game. No, he's actually pretty amazing when he's on his game.
I just hope he doesn't bring along all the BS with him he had with the Sens last year. He says he's over it, but TSN stalkers caught him being an asswipe with a team staff member of his KHL team this season too. So yeah. I dunno.
I would think he would take this opportunity to be back with an NHL club to prove he deserves to be, and that he is, an NHL goalie. I have hope. We'll see what happens.
The members of the team that they've interviewed about him (Carter, Knuble, Timonen, Asham, Briere) all seem to be hopeful about the season, and think he has changed and that this could be a good thing. . . . . . Now if it's true that Homer is looking into getting Esche again and we have an Emery/Esche tandem. . . that is something else completely and I have no faith that this team will get too far next season.
We shall see though.

I think that is all. I've been gone too long that I can't even remember what else I wanted to talk about.
Oh, one more thing:

How hot is Carter? (even though he dressed like a schlep to a press conference) lololol ;)

So I guess I won't be back here until next Thursday if anything good happens at the NHL Awards (unless of course there's a ruling in the Coyotes/Balsillie case before then), or unless the Flyers re-sign Knuble too. . . .lalala ;)

Kay, later.

Flyers - Bleed It

Randoms.

I have been without a computer for the last 1.5 months. It has been truly annoying. Also, a little nice . . . I didn't realise how much time I had been spending/wasting on it until I started spending my days doing better things.
Also, we found out last week that they are stalking our computers at work -- as in there is a spy program watching what we do, and that can even monitor our keystrokes (though I'm not sure we are being watched to that extent). Do I work for the CIA? I just want to know.
Needless to say, I have avoided doing anything personal at work now. . . hence the lack of posts.

So, I am super disappointed in the playoffs this year. It is garbage. And am I in the minority of those NOT excited about last years rematch?
I do not want the Pens to win. But I also want someone new to win this year. So just BOO.
AND, my stupid brother is driving to Detroit tomorrow to go to the stupid game which makes me hate it even more ;) Heh.

Also, I have to mention Peter Zezel. He was part of the magic of the Leafs back in '93 when I was super obsessed, and he was a great man who did a lot for the community.
I never met him or anything like that, but he was on OTR like 57834754875 times it seemed, and through that you really got a sense of his personality and who he was. He really was just an optimistic person who loved life. He always just seemed happy, and like one of those people that makes everyone around him happy. I'll miss seeing him the show in the future.
My thoughts and best wishes to his family.

And one last thing, congrats to Simon Gagne & his wife who had a baby boy earlier this week (I just saw that on the Flyers site). I had no idea they were expecting . . . I saw his wife at the wives carnival back in February and she did not look 6 months pregnant at all.
Anyway, that is awesome! Best of luck, congrats!

=)

Flyers - Knuble - Are you a real fan?

Flyers: Pics @ Leafs 4.1.09

So I am super bored right now, avoiding my work per usual, and have nothing to talk about.
I tend to not like to share the wealth, so I've avoided posting my pictures from the Flyers @ Leafs game on April 1st.
But as I said, I am bored so I am going to post a few (as in, a few) now.

This first one of Niitty is my absolute fave:

A few more . . .  )

And that is all for now. I suppose I should get my butt in gear and do some actual work.

Later. =)
